Telephone Scam

Apr 13, 2016

Dear Residents,

A man with a foreign accent identifying himself as a Mr. “Kasten or Castin” has been calling Ladue residents claiming to be with the United States Attorney’s Office or the Treasury Department, stating a lawsuit would be filed against the caller/home owner unless they make a payment in the matter. There is no common telephone number associated with these calls. This is a phishing scam; no one from any government agencies calls demanding money.

If you receive one of these telephone calls hang up. Complaints can be made at the Federal Trade Commission’s website:

 www.ftc.gov

Once on the website go to: FTC complaint assistant. Select “other”, then select “imposter scams”.
