Burglar Arrest

On Thursday, December 3, 2020, the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s office issued a total of thirteen (13) charges with a $200,000 cash only bond, on one:

 

Craig A. Richey (see accompanying photo)

62 years of age

Kirkwood, MO

 

for his actions related to several residential burglaries in the St. Louis County area dating back to July of this year. 

 

Charges include:

 

-        Burglary in the 2nd Degree, and an accompanying charge of Stealing over $750 as it related to a July 5th burglary, which took place in the first block of Clermont Lane in the city of Ladue.

 

-        Burglary in the 2nd Degree, and an accompanying charge of Stealing over $750 as it related to a July 11th burglary, which took place in the first block of Briarcliff Drive in the city of Ladue.

 

-        Burglary in the 2nd Degree, and an accompanying charge of Stealing over $750 as it related to a July 12th burglary, which took place in the first block of Sackston Woods Lane in the city of Creve Coeur.

 

-        Burglary in the 2nd Degree, and an accompanying charge of Stealing over $750 as it related to an August 1st burglary, which took place in the 12200 block of Carberry Place in the city of Town and Country.

 

-        Burglary in the 2nd Degree, and an accompanying charge of Stealing over $750 as it related to an August 23rd burglary, which took place in the 12100 block of Creekhaven Drive in the city of Des Peres.

 

-        Burglary in the 2nd Degree, and an accompanying charge of Stealing over $750 as it related to an October 8th burglary, which took place in the 700 block of Fairfield Drive in the city of Town and Country.

 

-        Burglary in the 1st Degree, and an accompanying charge of Stealing over $750 as it related to an October 22nd burglary, which took place in the 13300 block of Fairfield Circle Drive in the city of Town and Country.

 

Richey, who is considered a “serial burglar”, and on federal probation for similar type crimes, was alleged to have stolen several pieces of jewelry, high-end watches, and other property from the aforementioned residences.

 

A collective investigation with detectives from the cities of Town and Country, Ladue, Creve Coeur, Des Peres to include assistance from the St. Louis County Police Dept. and Special Agents with the local FBI field office, resulted in the discovery of incriminating evidence leading to Richey’s eventual arrest.

 

Richey was taken into custody yesterday afternoon at his place of employment without incident and was transferred to the St. Louis County Justice Center where he was served with the warrant.
