At said election, there shall be elected one Council Member each from Wards One, Two and Three of the City for two-year terms; and other such matters as may be lawfully placed upon the ballot shall be voted upon. 

Qualifications for Office of Alderman (Council Member)

RSMO 79.070. No person shall be an alderman unless he or she is at least eighteen years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and resident of the city for one year next preceding his or her election, and a resident, at the time he or she files and during the time he or she serves, of the ward from which he or she is elected; and such other qualifications as prescribed by law.

Filing for office as Alderman (Council Member) opens at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.  Each person filing for election as Council Member must file a declaration of candidacy and such other forms as prescribed by law.  Declaration of Candidacy forms may be filed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, (excluding holidays and such other times when City Hall is officially closed) with the City Clerk or her designee at Ladue City Hall, 9345 Clayton Road. 

Declarations of candidacy may be withdrawn only prior to five (5:00) p.m. on Tuesday January 16, 2018, unless otherwise ordered by the Board of Election Commissioners or a court of competent jurisdiction. (115.125 RSMO.)
