- Did you know that during the 2013-2014 leaf season the City of Ladue Public Works Department picked up almost 27,000 cubic yards of leaves. To put that in perspective if you had a pile of leaves 3 ft high and 3 ft wide it would be over 15 miles long.
- Due to the natural decomposition of leaves the internal temperature of our leaf windrows can reach 160 degrees or higher if left unturned too long. These high temperatures along with the moisture content in the leaves are what accounts for the large steam cloud that flows from our Scarab windrow turner during operation.

Storm Water Needs Assessment and website
The City's has hired an engineering firm, HR Green, to perform a citywide storm water needs assessment. In order to collect data from the residents of the community, they have created a user-friendly website. Residents are encouraged to input their storm water concerns directly into the website. This information, along with input collected at public meetings, will be compiled into a map and report of the storm water problem areas.
